Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito reunite nearly 40 years after legendary comedy Twins

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito have reunited as they confirm there will be an upcoming sequel to the 1998 hit comedy Twins.

Schwarzenegger, 76, shared a picture of the duo posing together alongside 72-year-old DeVito’s daughter Lucy, who also appears in the play. He captioned the snap: “My brother! It was fantastic to see Danny on Broadway in I Need That.

“He and Lucy and everybody involved kept the audience entertained, laughing and loving every minute – one of the best plays I’ve ever seen, a true spectacle with heart!! I can’t wait to work together again.”

Twins saw the pair play Julius and Vincent Benedict respectively, who discover they are twins - conceived by test tube - and show off their starkly different personalities and, obviously, their appearance.

The film, which had a $15 million budget but grossed $216 million worldwide when it his the big screen 35 years ago, will make a big comeback and star another Hollywood bigwig - Eddie Murphy.

Shwarzenegger has confirmed that a sequel is underway with Murphy set to play a triplet alongside him and DeVito, according to Deadline.

"Funny thing that happens in the mixing of the sperm," explained The Terminator star during a panel at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.

Back in 2012, Schwarzenegger first announced that a sequel called Triplets was in the works at ComicCon.

Speaking to ShortList in 2015, Murphy said: "A couple of years ago I met with Arnold and Danny and some writers.

"We had a meeting but I didn't hear anything. I tell you - I'm not doing anything unless the script's incredible."
