Ant and Dec leave fans 'foaming' as they reveal 'magic' behind baffling Saturday Night Takeaway scenes

Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly baffled viewers of Saturday Night Takeaway as they returned to the small screen with their hit entertainment show over the weekend. The duo were back with the 'happiest 90 minutes of the week' on Saturday night (February 25) and it was a jam-packed start to the ITV series.

It kicked off with a prank on a first-time dad Ant and Dec explained that they plotted with wife Amy after she contacted them telling them that her husband, Liam, was a big prankster and she wanted to get him back.

And after she told them she was three months pregnant, the boys and their team believed they had found the perfect opportunity to for Amy to get her own back. Firstly they tricked her husband Liam by setting up a fake 4D baby scan, using an actress as a sonographer, before taking part in a fake antenatal class and once their baby boy had arrived, headed for a bizarre photoshoot.

There was then an appearance from Alison Hammond after she was the subject of a prank by Ant and Dec that very almost didn't go ahead as the This Morning star refused to stay at the spooky fake hotel she had been sent to by her employers on the ITV daytime show.

There were plenty more fun and games before the End Of The Show Show segment, a popular staple of the show that signs things off with a high energy and often hilarious performance. First to take part in the segment this series was singer-songwriter Tom Grennan, who throughout the show was part of a running joke about him being locked in his dressing room.

As Ant and Dec went to his rescue, viewers were gobsmacked to notice something amiss about the room. As Tom performed his song Remind Me, he started to move without explanation along with Ant and Dec and other visitors to the room. Viewers were scratching their heads over the visual trickery.

And now the Geordie duo have revealed exactly how it was done by sharing a behind-the-scenes video on Instagram and Twitter. "All it took was a few strong arms and some cardboard cutouts. No biggie…" Ant and Dec captioned the post which showed the pair alongside Tom in a mock-up of the real dressing room.

They were surrounded by fake walls and bars which were being manoeuvres forwards and backwards with the cameras attached. And none of those involved in the performance had to move. And Ant and Dec's fans and followers were quick to respond as they all thought the same thing.

@tabyjaby said: "And I thought it was the floor. Loved it." @karalou75 commented: "Am I the only one who thought they were moving the floor." @janemhdg echoed: "Ahhhh I thought the floor was moving lol." @georgiie.lovell posted: "I thought it was a fancy revolving floor." @broganoe wrote: "FOAMING I thought the floor was moving."

@rach_albery_xx shared: "It was the room that moved, I can sleep at night now." @kj_mf88 typed: "So naive to think it was the floor moving!@natjaywray added: "Oooh I did suspect a revolving floor. Never thought it was the whole room and camera."
