A man who allegedly committed serious domestic violence crimes in Sydney has been arrested in central Queensland.

The 52-year-old is due to face a Sydney court on Thursday after police pounced on him in in Rubyvale, west of Rockhampton, on Monday.

It followed a three-month investigation into a domestic violence incident in Bidwill and a second location.

The man allegedly intentionally choked a person, destroyed or damaged property and committed a break-and-enter.

Police also allege he used a communications service to threaten serious harm and caused actual bodily harm during a domestic violence assault.

Officers from a high-risk domestic violence offenders team in Sydney travelled 1200km to Rockhampton and were granted his extradition, leading to his return to NSW on Wednesday.

The man is due to face Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday.

The charges come amid a national conversation on domestic violence and the government's response, sparked by a series of violent deaths including of Forbes childcare worker Molly Ticehurst.

Ms Ticehurst will be laid to rest in her central west NSW town on Thursday afternoon, with a service on a sportsground expected to draw many hundreds.

Local state MP Philip Donato said her death had touched everyone in the region.

"Molly was such a well-liked, well-known and highly-regarded young woman," Mr Donato told AAP.

State cabinet will hold a meeting on Friday entirely focused on domestic violence prevention.

Leaders in the sector are due to address ministers about the huge changes needed to wipe the scourge of domestic violence from NSW.

More than 25 women have been murdered across Australia this year.
