Alex Jones fears birthday message to The One Show co-host Jermaine Jenas will ruin his 'street cred'

The One Show ended on a high on Friday, February 17 as Emma Willis wished her co-host Jermaine Jenas a happy 40th birthday for the following day. After playing a video montage of the former footballer, Emma read out a number of messages that had been sent in and one was from his usual co-presenter, Alex Jones.

The 45-year-old from Ammanford said: "Oh my goodness, the sharpest dresser on the BBC is 40. We may never see eye to eye when it comes to football but you've become a very dear friend and I really enjoy sharing the sofa with you every week.

"Since our very first show together I was struck by how genuine and kind you are and I know that'll do nothing for your street cred but it is true. The happiest of birthdays and thank goodness you're finally joining Ro and I in the 40 club. Loads of love, Alex Jones."

Viewers may have noticed Alex has been absent from the classic green sofas of The One Show this week as she took some much needed time off as her children enjoyed the half-term break in England. During her break, the presenter has been spending some quality time with her children Teddy, Kit and Annie - who she shares with her husband Charlie Thomson - and in a recent Instagram post, she revealed just where she has been.

Posting a series of pictures in a video montage to the social media platform, the Welsh TV star revealed she was back in Wales and had taken her children to one of Wales' best attractions - St Fagans National Museum of History, situated near Cardiff. She told her 342k followers that it was a place she loved frequenting herself when she was a child.

She wrote: "It might have been a cloudy old day but today I took the children to somewhere I loved going as a child and we had a great time. If you haven’t been…go!!! So much to see. Such a unique experience!"
