Arab Parliament Speaker Adel Al Asoomi called on Sunday for solidarity and economic cohesion among Arab countries, as the world goes through upheaval over the invasion of Ukraine.
"The current situation has led to unprecedented economic hardships and challenges. They will have a direct impact on the living conditions of Arab citizens, especially in Arab countries of limited resources," he said in a statement.
He stressed that the situation demands, more than ever, solidarity among Arab countries whereby they would help the Arab countries that are most affected by the current crises.
They would help in bolstering their ability in confronting the challenges and minimizing their impact on the people, Al Asoomi said.
The solidarity will protect these countries from any negative consequences, especially since globalization has made it impossible for one country, no matter how economically stable it is, to weather an economic storm unaided, he remarked.
