HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will graciously preside over the opening performance at 2pm, with a second show set at 6pm.

Pichet Klunchun, a celebrated dancer and choreographer, has gained international recognition for his innovative interpretations of the classical Thai mask dance. His creative works have won him several awards both at home and abroad.

His dance company will perform the Ramayana epic, starting from the abduction of Sita to the climactic battles between Prince Rama and King Ravana. In addition to choreographing and directing the khon dances, Pichet himself will perform as Ravana in disguise as an old hermit to lure Sita and kidnap her.

This performance of the classic Ramayana with a modern interpretation made a successful debut at the Musée du Quai Branly -- Jacques Chirac in Paris in late 2021.

The charity performance is organised by Class 41 Alumni of the Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University, to mark its 50th anniversary and proceeds will go to the Borom Ratchakumaree Fund and the Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Foundation for the Faculty of Arts to assist the students who need financial aid.

The Sodsai Pantoomkomol Centre for Dramatic Arts is located on the 6th floor of Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Building at the Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University, Phaya Thai Road.

Tickets are priced at 5,000 baht for the royal opening performance at 2pm and 2,500 baht for the evening performance at 6pm.
