2024 NFL draft: Relative Athletic Scores for every Seahawks pick

The Seattle Seahawks made some questionable choices in the 2024 NFL draft, especially on Day 3. However, one thing they all have in common (with one notable exception) is a strong athletic profile. As per usual, Seattle selected above-average athletes with most of their picks relative to the historic players at their respective positions.

Here are the Relative Athletic Scores for each pick the Seahawks made in the draft this year.

DT Byron Murphy II: 9.23

Like his popular comp pick Aaron Donald (9.66 RAS), Byron Murphy II scored very poorly in the size department but was excellent in every other athletic category. Murphy posted elite grades in explosion, speed and agility at his position.

G Christian Haynes: 9.10

Christian Haynes is also relatively undersized for his position, especially coming in at just 6-foot-2. However, Haynes has a solid explosion grade and was elite in speed testing.

LB Tyrice Knight: 7.40

At linebacker Tyrice Knight also comes up a bit short and small but he does have great speed and is good enough in the agility and explosion departments.

TE AJ Barner: 8.70

With tight end AJ Barner the Seahawks finally get some size in this class. He posted good grades in that area and across the board in every category.

CB Nehemiah Pritchett: 7.79

One of two cornerback picks made by Seattle on Day 3, Nehemiah Pritchett posted iffy marks in agility and explosion. However, he has good size for a pro corner and great speed.

OL Sataoa Laumea: N/A

There is no RAS number available for Sataoa Laumea but his measurables are 6-foot-4, 319 pounds with 32.875″ arms and 9.875″ hands. At the Scouting Combine he posted a 26″ vertical leap, an 8’8″ broad jump and 26 bench press reps. He did not run the 40-yard dash.

CB D.J. James: 5.82

The only exception to the rule of strong RAS scores was in Round 6 when the Seahawks picked Auburn cornerback D.J. James. He scored very poorly in size and agility, but he does come with top-notch speed.

OL Michael Jerrell: 9.29

With their last pick in the draft the Seahawks took a flyer on small-school stud Michael Jerrell, who likely projects as a guard at the next level. If he does he’s got a superb RAS, especially in speed and explosion, plus respectable grades in size and agility.
